Privacy
This page explains what we collect through the forms on this site and how we use it.
What we collect
When you submit an event, sign up to carry the paper, enter the weekly contest, or contact us, we collect the information you type into that form — things like your name, email, phone number, and the details of your submission.
How we use it
- Event submissions: your name and email are kept private and used only if we have questions about your event. The event details you submit for publication (organization, location, description, public contact) are shown on our calendar and may run in the printed paper.
- Carry-the-paper signups: your contact information is kept private and used only to arrange drop-offs.
- Contest entries: your email is used to contact you if you win, and, only if you check that box, to send occasional Dispatch news. We don't share contest entrant information with advertisers.
- Contact form: used only to respond to your message.
We don't sell or share the information you give us with outside companies. Submissions are reviewed by The Oldham Dispatch's editor before anything is published.
How long we keep it
We keep form submissions as long as needed to run the paper, the calendar and the contest, and we're finalizing a specific retention schedule. If you'd like your information removed sooner, contact us and we'll take care of it.
